Biographical Note for FOLEY CATHETER

Foley, Frederic Eugene Basil (1891–1966), American urologist. Foley in 1937 introduced an operation for stricture at the junction of the ureter and the kidney pelvis. The operation entailed the insertion of a rubber catheter now known as the Foley catheter.
